What is it?
Our/Place is a fully furnished group home with 10 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 4 washrooms, an outdoor backyard for us all to enjoy. We’re located in Hayes Valley. Our neighbourhood is on the safer side of San Francisco and Hayes Valley is especially well known for its concentration of AI startups and people. Each bedroom comes out to around $1.9k, although this number may change depending on the size of your bedroom relative to others.
What we’re trying to achieve
We want our home to be a living cradle of curiosity. People are most creative when they’re inspired by others and in the absence of expectation. We believe that the best way to achieve this is through spontaneity. Most of our events will be done with minimal planning, and we purposely located ourselves in the heart of SF to maximize the inflow of guests.
We believe in agency as the number one predictor of success, and we aim to instil that feeling in all our residents. However, the internet has geared us more towards passive consumption over active participation. We want to work as a force against this trend. Many of our residents are already working on side projects that strive to make the internet more interactive. Charles and Eden are building tools to make research papers social and interactive, and Freeman is creating an in real life Trivia game (it’s pretty fun and he’s trending on the App store!).

He surpasses the expectations of what a performer is, and instead becomes the leader in transporting the audience on a collaborative journey. This is what we want to achieve. We want to curate a space where collaborative living and exploring free flowing curiosity, however absurd and outside the expectations of society, brings out more of our latent potential.

That being said, we also value individual autonomy as much as we do community. People generally have busy lives outside of the house so it’s unrealistic to over plan events that would drain people more than recharge them at home. That is to say, we don’t want home to feel like a second work place. Any collaborative work should have a low overhead, and we recommend that it be done in small groups to minimize the need for coordination.

Apart from having your own room (or shared room if you so choose), we will offer a variety of perks and amenities to our residents. Some of which include

- We’re not going to preplan many events but we hope to do at least one nature retreat every month
Who are we looking for?
SF is full of builders. Boston is full of thinkers. We want to create a balanced space for both to thrive to thrive in symbiosis. This is best achieved through the residents of our house.

More Logistics
The rooms all come with comfortable mattresses, beddings, pillows and towels. A desk, a standard office chair, and a heater.
Two kitchens are equipped with cutlery, pots/pans, plates, cups, water kettle, mixing bowls, and other basics.
Electronics: a toaster, coffee machine, blending machine, instant pot.
Lower unit: A dinning table that extends with 4 chairs. (Can add foldable chairs).
Cleaning supplies: paper-towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher capsules, dish liquid, hand soap, trash bags.
Weekly: cleaning services of all common areas.
